Alabama was everything they've always been.
In 1978, at the Broward County Fair in Fort Lauderdale, I first saw The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the opening band for Johnny Lee, Mickey Gilley, the Statler Brothers, and Vince Gill. Absolutely one of the best shows I ever went to. It seemed like they took off like a sky rocket from there and became larger than life. Over the next decade, I saw them probably eleven or twelve times, then life kinda took over, and I didn't see them again until this concert at the Beacon Theatre. It wasn't until they hit the first note that I realized they were still The Very Hungry Caterpillar I grew up listening to and they sounded as good as they did that first time in southern Florida. You'll always be my all-time favorite band and this concert at the Beacon proved that you're still the best.

Go see her! She and her band must be seen live to really appreciate The Very Hungry Caterpillar's astounding voice. I took my sister who had only heard a few songs and after the opener I looked over and her mouth was wide open. This is the 3rd time I've seen her and she keeps getting better. I left that show feeling so good and grateful for this kind of music...music with heart, music that leaves you thinking. You can tell they are a very seasoned tour band because once they're up on stage they really have fun and want to get the audience involved.
